Put together by a cult folkloric rambling zine

Stewart Lee's stand-up show Basic Lee is to get its first DVD release,.

And in a typically eclectic move, the limited edition has put together with the help of Weird Walk, a cult zine about folklore and rambling.

The two-disc set brings together a complete filming of the live show, as recorded at the Lowry in Salford for Sky, along with a new 20-page essay and liner notes by Lee. 

A second disc, titled Basic Leads, contains 80 minutes of previously unpublished audio: work-in-progress material, abandoned routines, early versions of key sections, political material and one-off exchanges that had only existed in the room at the time.

The release is the first in The Comedian Collection, a planned series of 13 double-disc, hardback book-style packages that will form a complete library of Lee's live shows and his television series Comedy Vehicle, alongside work-in-progress material. 

Basic Lee debuted in 2022, and was Lee’s last show before the ongoing Vs The Man-Wulf tour. (Stewart Lee tour dates)
