'It’s time I learnt a new skill'

Comedian and YouTuber Max Fosh is taking part in this s year’s Celebrity MasterChef, it has been announced.

He is one of the contestants in the final set of heats for the show alongside paratriathlete Lauren Steadman, Loose Woman Sue Cleaver, DJ and presenter   Melvin Odoom, Sue Cleaver and former Saturdays singer Una Healy. 

Fosh said: ‘I’ve done outrageous food videos for my career, like cooking a steak using lightning bolts, but it’s time I learnt a new skill. Plus, my parents love MasterChef and will be proud of me!

‘I’m not typically a foodie; I’m on more of an "eat to live" basis. However, now I'm on a fitness journey, I’m more conscious of what I’m eating. ‘

Describing himself as a ‘competent home cook’, he added: ‘I love Italian food, salmon, chicken and Laksa. I also enjoy cooking souffles. 

And while he said he hated eggs, he paradoxically added that he loved mayonnaise.  ‘Someone once commented ‘you’re the human embodiment of mayonnaise’ on one of my YouTube videos, presumably to take the mick, but I take it as a huge compliment,’ he said.  

Earlier this week, it was announced that Joe Pasquale was also taking part in the show, which will air later this year.
