Radio 4 gets Randy again
New series for felt-faced comedian
Puppet comedian Randy Feltface is getting a new Radio 4 series.
The creation of Australian Heath McIvor will be ‘fixing his ping-pong ball gaze upon the evolutionary journey of Earth’s most baffling beings’ in the forthcoming show, called Human Handbook.
Producers say the programme will go ‘from the inscrutable beginnings of the humble hominid to the self-inflicted environmental predicaments of the modern human’.
It follows the four-part series Randy Feltface's Destruction Manual, which aired in 204 and covered what we can do to speed up climate change and bring a swift end to life on Earth as we know it.
The new series will be recorded on August 8 and 26 at the Pleasance Theatre in London, with free audience tickets available from Standing Room Only.
Originally created by puppeteer McIvor for a comedy musical, Randy came to prominence as part of a double act with Australian comedian Sammy J. They starred in the 2015 series Sammy J & Randy in Ricketts Lane down under.
A regular at the Edinburgh Fringe and on the live circuit, Randy also competed in the American reality series Bring the Funny in 2019, making it to the second round.
