Austin Powers 4 on the way, says Mike Myers
As Dr Evil is resurrected for a US phone ad
Austin Powers is to return for a fourth movie, Mike Myers has said.
The comedian has just revived the British super-spy’s nemesis Dr Evil, in an advertisement for US mobile network Verizon.
The commercial features the supervillain setting up a ‘diabolical phone company’ called Menace Mobile. It also stars Seth Green reprising his role as the criminal mastermind’s son Scott and Mindy Sterling as his henchwoman Frau Farbissin, with Rob Lowe as No2. In the original films, Robert Wagner played that role with Lowe as the younger version.

Myers did not elaborate on the next instalment of the Austin Powers film franchise, but confirmed the plans when he appeared on Trevor Noah’s World Cup Watch Party yesterday.
Asked by a fan whether there would be an Austin Powers 4, the star replied simply: ‘Yes.’
Myers has previously floated the idea of another movie – probably focusing on Dr Evil – but has never given such a definitive answer.
In 2020, franchise director Jay Roach told Deadline that a fourth film would ‘depend on Mike having something that he’s inspired about… I’m always game for anything he wants to do.
The series has grossed more than $500million so far, starting with International Man of Mystery in 1997 which was followed by The Spy Who Shagged Me in 1999 and Goldmember in 2002.
