Playing his mum

Lesley Manville has been cast as Brett Goldstein’s mum un his forthcoming romcom series Escorted.

The actress previously starred in her own BBC sitcom, Mum, and this week won a Tony award for playing Mark Strong’s wife and mother in Oedipus on Broadway.

In Escorted, which will air on Prime Video, she plays Terri,  described as a ‘charisma bomb cabaret legend [and] a force of nature with the voice to match.’

Escorted follows a divorced dad in Manhattan who accidentally becomes a male escort.

Goldstein – currently starring in the Netflix film Office Romance opposite Jennifer Lopez – is co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer on  Escorted.
