Summer bonus for Mock The Week
Surprise as TLC announces an extra five episodes
Mock The Week is returning for a five-week run this summer.
The episodes come on top of the already announced second season of the revived panel show on the TLC channel.
Dara Ó Briain, who will be back as host, said: ‘The Prime Minister in trouble, the world running out of oil, and the most chaotic World Cup in history about to start? Well, that sounds like a week worth mocking. Of course we’re back!’
Rhys James will also return as a series regular for the new hour-long episodes, which kick off on June 7 and will again be made by production company Angst.
Graham Lafferty, who ordered the show for channel owner Warner Bros. Discovery said: ‘Following May’s elections and a football World Cup from North America, fans of the series can expect more comedy gold as topical satire meets a summer packed with global and local events and an ever-changing news agenda.
Mock The Week returned to British screens in February, when TLC relaunched as a free-to-air channel after years as a pay-TV network. The topical panel show had been off air since the BBC axed it in 2022 after 21 series.
