A League Of Their Own launches its first tour

Live version of long-running comedy sports show

Comedy sports panel show A League Of Their Own is to take its format on the road for the first time, with a live arena tour of the UK this autumn.

The tour opens in September and will visit Liverpool, Manchester, London, Newcastle, Birmingham and Glasgow.

Former England footballer Jamie Redknapp, who has appeared on the show throughout its run, will be host, joined by ex-footballer Jill Scott and ex-boxer Tony Bellew as the team captains.

Comedian Tom Davis, a frequent face on the show, will also joining the teams, along with Patrice Evra, the former Manchester United and France defender, and comedian Maisie Adam will guest.

Promoters Live Nation said audiences can expect live versions of the physical challenges and comedy segments that have made the show popular on television.

Redknapp said: ‘Redknapp said: ‘I can't wait to take A League Of Their Own on tour to some of the biggest and best venues in the UK.  We've put together a top team of League legends, some very special guests, and every night promises to be different.

‘It's gonna be loud, it's gonna be chaotic and it's probably gonna be full of Leatherman jokes at my expense. Hosting A League of Their Own Live is a dream job, so come and join in the fun.'

A League Of Their Own began on Sky One in 2010 and ran for 20 series over 16 years, wrapping up in December last year.

Tickets for the live shows go on sale at 10am on Friday
