Kat gets the cream
The latest Chortle Hotshot
Kat Higgins has become the latest comedian to join the Chortle Hotshots Class of 2026 following a showcase at the Glee Club in Birmingham.
She receives some financial help bringing her debut show In Memory of Me to the Edinburgh Fringe this August.
The stand-up hour aims to deconstructs the selective nature of memory, the weight of Catholic guilt, and the art of being a ‘prick’ – while tackling the complex grief of losing a sibling and the ‘sainthood’ we grant the dead.
Higgins joins our previously announced Hotshots Sam Serrano, Omar Badawy and Paul Hilleard.
The final Hotshot will be chosen at a showcase in the Monkey Barrel in Edinburgh on March 24. Performing will be Andrew Tubman, Eva Peroni, Mick McNeill, Craig Speirs, Chris Rutter, Tasmin Sarkany, Alan Jay and Belle Emilie Gold with MC Billy Kirkwood. Tickets are available here.
Meanwhile, Will Finney, a 20-year-old second-year computer science graduate at Exeter became the latest Chortle Student Comedy Award finalist following the semi-final in the Devon city last night.
The last semi-final will be at Fairfield Social club in Manchester on Sunday March 22. Tickets are available here.
Videos for both of this weeks events will be available soon.
