Chris Cantrill wins a BBC Audio Drama Award

For his performance in Icklewick FM

Chris Cantrill has won the BBC Audio Drama Award for best comedy performance for Icklewick FM.

He created the Radio 4 show with fellow comic Amy Gledhill, who was not on the shortlist, which also included Jon Culshaw for Churchill’s Bust and Michael Spicer for  No Room..

Meanwhile , Meet David Sedaris won the stand-up or sketch comedy category ahead of Alfie Moore’s It’s A Fair Cop and Tough Crowd by Kiri Pritchard‑McLean, exploring her experiences of becoming a foster carer, which won a special commendation.

Best sitcom or comedy drama went to Lyra by Joe Barnes and Henry Perryment. – a one-off about old friends Mike and Hunter find a baby in a crater in the woods, and co-starred Rose Matafeo, Charlotte Ritchie and Ed Kear

Also nominated were Crybabies Presents… Yours, Fatally and Icklewick FM.
