Alan Carr joins Pixar movie

Voicing an animated squirrel

Alan Carr has been announced as taking part in yet another project  – voicing a character in a Pixar film.

The comic will play Alan the Squirrel in Hoppers, alongside his friend Amanda Holden, who voices Amanda the Spider.

The news comes just a day after it was revealed that the Celebrity Traitors winner would be fronting a new travelogue series for Prime Video called The F*** It List, which also features fellow comics Jack Dee, Tom Allen and Joanne McNally.

He is also working on Castle Man, a series about buying and running a Scottish castle, for Pixar’s sister company Disney+.

Of his role in Hoppers, he said: ‘I couldn’t be happier jumping into the recording booth to take on the role of Alan the Squirrel. Being in a Pixar film is a dream come true.’

Holden added that she was ‘thrilled’ to be in the cast, adding: ‘When Disney calls, you answer!’

The film revolves around an animal lover called Mabel, voiced by Piper Curda, who uses  technology to ‘hop’ her consciousness into a lifelike robotic beaver and communicate directly with animals.

Also providing voices are  Bobby Moynihan, Jon Hamm and Meryl Streep.

The film opens in cinemas on March 6.
