The Unstoppable out now on Netflix

Dave Chappelle has released a surprise stand-up special.

The show, The Unstoppable, dropped on Netflix immediately after the  live-stream of the Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua fight last night.

He announced the show just before the fight, releasing a video  on social media and the livestream itself,  saying: ‘I wanted to shout out my hometown Washington DC and thank everybody who came out in October to support me at that show.

‘I just want you to know that show will be streaming on Netflix tonight. After the fight, my new special drops, and I hope you love it.’

The special is Chappelle’s eighth for the streamer, which also released a speech he gave at his alma mater, the Duke Ellington High School of Arts.

In it he addresses the controversy surrounding his appearance at the Riyadh Comedy Festival saying: ‘I don’t feel guilty at all.’

He said black people died’t have a problem with him taking the gig but liberal while comedians like Bill Maher had accused him of ‘somehow betraying my principles’.

Rreferring to the journalist killed and dismembered on the instructions of the Saudi regime, Chappelle says: ‘Rest in peace, Jamal Khashoggi. I’m sorry that he got murdered in such a heinous fashion. And also, I mean, look, bro, Israel’s killed 240 journalists in the last three months, so I didn’t know y’all was still counting.’

That figure – which received cheers from the audience – comes from the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, as the death toll since Israel launched its retaliatory attacks in Gaza after the October 7 atrocity.

Chappelle also added that it’s easier for him to perform in Saudi Arabia than in America because of the backlash in the West over his transgender jokes – an argument on stage during  the festival. And he boasted that he got paid more than any other comedian playing there.

As for last night’s fight, Anthony Joshua knocked out Jake Paul in the sixth round.

The Unstoppable is  available here.
