Alan Carr pilots Nation's Dumbest game show

Norwegian format could be heading to BBC One

Alan Carr has recorded a pilot gameshow for BBC One called Nation’s Dumbest.

The format originated in Norway, with 12 celebrities fighting it out to be eliminated from the competition as quickly as possible.

Influencers, wrestlers, comedians and politicians have taken part in the physical and mental challenges in the original version.

Norges Dummeste (Norway’s Dumbest) began airing on public broadcaster TV2 in August 2024 and has become the nation’s most-watched TV show. A third season is set to air next year.

Now trade magazine Broadcast reports that Celebrity Traitors winner Carr has piloted a UK version,

It follows press reports that the comic had been  flown to ‘a swanky European city’ to tape an mystery entertainment pilot last month. An unnamed source then told The Sun the taping had gone well and speculated: ’It’s just a matter of when, not if, this gets green-lit.’
