Have I Got News For You audience cheer as they find out Andrew is no longer a prince

Watch as news breaks during recording

The news that Andrew is no longer a prince broke doing the recording of tonight’s Have I Got News For You.

And the studio audience cheered as host Jason Manford read out the news, handed to him by a member of the production crew last night.

‘Wow. Crikey. It’s happened,’ the comic said.

Then Paul Merton joked: ‘The bad news is he’s become King!’

Manford also explained that Andrew was losing his lease on Royal Lodge, adding: ‘I’ve heard Rachel Reeves has got a place to rent though…

And he concluded: ‘This is the news that Andrew has lost all of his titles

’It’s humiliating, I’ve got tins of tuna chunks in the cupboard that can still legally call themselves Princes.

‘According to the statement from Buckingham Palace, Prince Andrew has been forced to give up all of his styles, titles and honours. However he does get to keep his Pizza Express loyalty card…’

Former minister Louise Haigh and comic Laura Smyth are the guests on tonight’s show, which airs on BBC One at 9pm.
