Victor Meldrew's house sells for £337,500
TV links did little for its value
Victor Meldrew’s house has sold for its asking price of £337,500.
The three-bedroom property in Christchurch, Dorset, was used for exterior scenes in One Foot In The Grave.
It went on the market in June, and estate agent Ben Jenkins said its TV links made little difference to its value.
He told The Sun: ‘Being the house from the TV series was quite a thing back in the day… but now not so much. But it does give it a funny little slant.'
In the BBC series, Victor and wife Margaret moved to the terraced house after their previous home was burnt down.
Scenes shot at the property – described as a ‘well presented, terraced house… in a lovely, quiet location’ by estate agent Mitchells – included the garden being covered in 263 garden gnomes and a Citroen being dumped in a skip Victor left on the drive.
