Stewart Lee, Frank Skinner, Phill Jupitus and more

Comedy stars have signed up to support lo-fi psychedelic punk duo The Lovely Eggs on their tour this autumn.

The musicians will be joined by the likes of Stewart Lee, Frank Skinner and Phill Jupitus in the guise of his alter-ego Porky The Poet’ on their 20th anniversary tour.

 The duo – married couple Holly Ross and David Blackwell – previously made the show Eggs TV shining a light on alternative and underground art, with feared the likes of Lee, John Cooper Clarke, musician Gruff Rhys, visual artist David Shrigley and many more, 

Lee will be supporting the band in Brighton; Skinner in Manchester, London and Birmingham and Jupitus in Edinburgh.

Rob Auton will be opening in Bristol, Eric Rushton in Nottingham, Zara Gladman in Glasgow and Viz comic co-founder Simon Donald in Newcastle.

Of their anniversary, Ross said: ‘ The last 20 years have been a lifelong dedication to music and art. It’s never been a job, it’s a lifestyle, a way of life, an ethos and a commitment to creating.

‘We’ve spent most of our lives being in bands and trying to challenge a mainstream conventional lifestyle.’
