A comic tale of a woman's out-of-control lie

Comedian Brenda Gilhooly has written her first novel.

Woman Behaving Badly is a comic story of 49-year-old Millie, whose life is in freefall as she’s she’s stuck in a job she hates and back living with her mum.

And things get worse as she tells ‘one massive, ridiculous lie’ which  snowballs out of control.

Gilhooly was a regular on the comedy circuit in the 1990s with her character Gayle Tuesday, an archetypal dumb blonde and Page 3 girl, who went on to feature in her own ITV sitcom.

She was part of the witting team on Harry Hill's TV Burp and occasionally appeared on screen, and in 2019 wrote and starred in the  Radio 4 sitcom Madam Mayor, which also featured Jack Dee, Harry Hill, Michelle Collins and Elis James.

Woman Behaving Badly is due to  be published by HarperCollins imprint One More Chapter in July next year. It is available for advance order from Amazon, priced £9.99 in paperback  – or from uk.bookshop.org, below, which supports independent bookstores.
