Inbetweeners duo investigate 'facts'

Inbetweeners stars Joe Thomas and James Buckley are reuniting for a new podcast.

Joe and James Fact Up will see the pair investigating ‘some of life’s most pointless but oddly satisfying mysteries’. Examples given are whether all crisps expire on a Saturday or if the lift's close button is just for show.

Thomas said: ‘I've always loved the facts you can pull out anywhere that get people talking, so debunking them is going to be pretty fun, especially when I get to do it with one of my good mates. Things do get pretty weird from my end, so who knows where this podcast journey will lead to.’

James Buckley added: ‘I’ve always loved working with Joe, so I'm excited to just spend time with him speaking nonsense... It's basically what we do already, but with a mic attached. So let's see how well that turns out.’

The weekly show launches next Tuesday and is produced by Audio Always, the team behind chart-topping podcasts Help I Sexted My Boss and Elis James & John Robins’s podcast.

The company says the show ‘gives everyone a chance to hear their genuine friendship like never before as they share all about their life, petty gripes and shared love for completely random facts’.

It comes after the pair – who played Jay and Simon in the Channel 4 coming-of-age comedy – took on the roles of Liam and Noel Gallagher for a sketch for Comic Relief's Red Nose Day earlier this year.

Earlier this week, it was announced that Buckley will be going on tour in the spring with his wife Clair with a show based on their video podcast  At Home With The Buckleys, which has more than 275,000 subscribers on YouTube. Tickets are available on Ticketmaster now ahead of a general sale at 10am tomorrow.
