Natasha Lyonne and Matt Berry star in new comedy-thriller
Sky to air the 'retro-infused' Force & Majeure
Natasha Lyonne and Matt Berry are to star in a new comedy thriller series billed as a ‘retro-infused, playfully irreverent take on the classic TV action-adventure detective genre’.
The pair are teaming up on Force & Majeure – with Toast Of London star Berry playing Thomas Force, an art expert and thief, and Poker Face’s Lyonne as Jennifer Majeure, an American mercenary.
They are recruited by an eccentric, justice-obsessed billionaire called Amanda Daventry to defeat the evil plans of international villains operating in the most fabulous locations across Europe. However she may not be telling them the whole story…
Lyonne and Berry created the show with What We Do In The Shadows writer Tom Scharpling, who pens the series with he Inbetweeners’ co-creator Iain Morris and Cirocco Dunlap, who wrote on Lyonne’s previous hit, Russian Doll.
The six-part ‘sharply funny and stylishly escapist’ series will be available on Sky and streaming service Now in the UK and Ireland, although the broadcast date has not yet been announced.
It is being made by Objective Fiction – who worked with Berry on Toast of London and Year of the Rabbit – and Lyonne’s production company Animal Pictures.
