Filming starts on Big Mood series 2
As new names join cast
My Family star Robert Lindsay and Marina Bye from the Siblings double act have joined the cast of Channel 4’s hit comedy Big Mood.
The news was announced as Derry Girls star Nicola Coughlan and Lydia West started filming the six new episodes, which will air next year.
It picks up a year after former best friends Maggie (Coughlan) and Eddie (West) last saw each other, without any contact since.
When Eddie suddenly returns for a wedding, she brings along an ‘infuriatingly positive spiritual healer’ named Whitney, putting more strain on their relationship.
Also joining series two are Hannah Onslow, Marcus Collin, Munroe Bergdorf, Kyran Thrax, Kelly Campbell, Leo Wan, Zachary Hart and John Locke. Details of the roles each are playing have not yet been released.
Series one of Big Mood was Channel 4 streaming’s highest new comedy launch since Derry Girls when it aired last year. And Coughlan received her first Bafta nomination for her portrayal of Maggie, who has bipolar disorder.
Returning cast members will include Robert Gilbert as Will, Eamon Farren as Krent, Niamh Cusack as Gillian, Amalia Vitale as Anya, Luke Fetherston as Ryan, Rebecca Lowman as Vanessa, Stephen Sobal as Owen and Kate Fleetwood as Clara.
