Gregor Fisher and Greg McHugh return

Gregor Fisher and Greg McHugh have started filming the second series of their sitcom Only Child this week.

The pair star as squabbling father and son Ken and Richard Pritchard in the BBC comedy, which is shooting in Glasgow, Paisley, Helensburgh and Dunlop.

Also returning for the six-part second series are: Amy Lennox as Emily; Clare Barrett as Jen; Robin Laing as Ian and Paul Rattray as Digs  – while new cast members include Clive Russell, Jenny Galloway, Kevin Bishop and Tam Dean Burn.  

The show is written by Bryce Hart and made by Happy Tramp North, where executive producer Neil Webster said: ‘We’re all so excited to be back shooting a new series. Greg and Gregor are back as the first family of Forres, surrounded by all the cast and crew that made series one such a joy.’

Louise Thornton, head of commissioning for BBC Scotland said: ‘Only Child was a real hit with audiences who took Ken and Richard to their hearts. Bryce has written another script full of warmth and humour which will have the audience laughing and shedding the odd tear. We’re looking forward to seeing how life has been treating Ken and Richard as they navigate the ups and downs of modern-day life together.'
