Katherine Ryan joins The Bad Guys 2
Watch her play PA Maureen
Katherine Ryan is to voice a cameo role in the new action-comedy franchise, The Bad Guys 2.
She plays Maureen, the hyper-organised assistant to state governor Diane Foxington, as voiced by Zazie Beetz.
The film revolves around a group of animal outlaws who are struggling to be accepted now they are the good guys. However, they're pulled out of retirement and forced to do ‘one last job’ by an all-female squad of criminals.
Ryan said: ‘This is unlike anything I’ve ever done before. I loved the first film because there’s something for everyone, it’s for the kids but it’s also for me… It’s nice to do a role that my kids will finally respect.
‘In the sequel, you can expect action, adventure and comedy and an even bigger heist… it’s funny and it’s fun and I’m just really excited!’
She joins a returning cast that includes Sam Rockwell as Mr. Wolf, with Marc Maron (Mr. Snake), Craig Robinson (Mr. Shark), Anthony Ramos (Mr. Piranha), Awkwafina (Ms. Tarantula) and Richard Ayoade as Professor Marmalade, a villainous guinea pig.
Meanwhile The Bad Girls gang will be voiced by Danielle Brooks (leader Kitty Kat, a snow leopard), Maria Baklova (Pigtail, a wild boar) and Natasha Lyonne (Doom, a raven).
Ryan’s voice will feature in the UK theatrical version of the DreamWorks Animation film, out in cinemas on July 25.
