Succession's Brian Cox announces tour
...as does stand-up Chloe Petts
Succession star Brian Cox has announced his first one-man show It’s All About Me!, promising ‘hilarious’ stories from his career.
Although known for his powerful dramatic roles, the 79-year-old actor also has a comedy pedigree, perhaps most notably as Bob Servant, the owner of Dundee’s third most successful burger van turned MP, on TV and radio series created by writer Neil Forsyth.
He’s also appeared in Charlie Brooker’s spoof police procedural, A Touch of Cloth, played Daphne’s father Harry in Frasier (earning an Emmy nominee) and played King Lear in a French and Saunders sketch and Marlon Brando in Sky’s Urban Myths
His new show, It’s All About Me!, plays 18 dates this autumn and promises to go through his life ‘from the backstreets of Dundee to the glittering lights of Hollywood - a journey that is full of laughter and pathos’. And in the second half he will answer audience questions.
Cox said: ‘I am looking forward to this tour as it marks something a little different for me - sharing the stage with myself. As the title indicates, the show will focus more than ever on my life and career. In the second half, the tables are turned and the audience will have the chance to put their questions to me. It should be a lot of fun.’
Tickets go on sale at 10am tomorrow. Tour dates and box office links are here.
