Aisling Bea announces her first ever tour
Older Than Jesus hits UK theatres next spring
She’s been a stalwart of TV comedy ever since she broke through more than a dozen years ago – now Aisling Bea is embarking on her first-ever tour.
The comedian has announced a 23-date tour of her new show Older Than Jesus next spring, with more dates expected to be added later.
It promises ‘whip-smart observations of being younger and getting older [and] the joyful chaos that comes with all the stages and changes you can hit in just one decade’, as Bea makes the transition into motherhood, just as her own Mam sells the family home in Ireland and moves to join her daughter in London.
Bea, now 41, came to attention by winning the So You Think You’re Funny new act competition at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2012, getting nominated for best newcomer the following year, for the first of two shows she has performed at the festival.
She quickly became a regular on TV shows including QI, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, the Last Leg and Taskmaster, and co-creating and starring in the Channel 4 comedy This Way Up.
Her other acting credits include the Netflix series, Living With Yourself opposite Paul Rudd, the BBC series Avoidance alongside Romesh Ranganathan, and the Disney remake of Home Alone, Home Sweet Home Alone.
Bea will be on The One Show from 7pm tonight to talk about the tour.
Tickets have gone on sale via Bea’s socials now and will go on general sale from 10am on Friday.
