Visiting only places with one-star reviews

Roisin Conaty and Sara Pascoe are to travel the world for a new TV series – staying in only in the most poorly-reviewed places.

In Zero Stars, the comedians and best friends will stay at, eat in and visit ‘places with only the funniest and worst reviews in search of a truly unique experience they wouldn’t get from a five-star beach resort’.

The show is based on a Danish format starring Jan Elhøj and  Morten Kirckhoff which has run for seven series and spawned another spin-off in Belgium

Eight hour-long episodes are being made for Warner Bros. Discovery by A League Of Their Own production company CPL Productions.

It will air early next year and test the mantra that ‘one person’s trash is another person’s treasure and that five-star hotels, restaurants and entertainment are for cowards’, according the the programme-makers

The order comes after much criticism of broadcasters only ever commissioning pairs of male comedians – or male comedians and their parents – to make travelogues.
