Guz Khan to host a new car show
About Britain’s flashiest customised motors
Guz Khan is to host a new show about Britain’s flashiest customised cars.
The Man Like Mobeen comedian – and self-confessed petrolhead – will present Guz Khan’s Custom Cars for the Quest channel next year.
Filming has just started on the eight hour-long episodes, which chart Khan's attempt to modify his own car.
Producers saud: 'To help inspire him, Khan will embark on a journey to discover cars as unconventional as their owners. He will test drive their creations, providing laugh-out-loud moments whilst also learning more about what modifications can do for cars, as he makes his own journey from "car purist" to "car modder".’
Earlier this year, production company Ricochet – which also makes BBC hit The Repair Shop – put out a call for the owners of the UK’s ‘best self-built passion projects, and expertly extravagant modified cars’
Producers then said: ‘If you have a modified car of any kind, such as a pristine show car, track day monster, restomod or simply an outrageous car build that’s not even finished yet, we want to hear from you!’
Former Taskmaster contestant Khan previously made a guest appearance on Channel 4’s Bangers: Mad For Cars, as well as speaking about his love of motors to Top Gear magazine.
He told them: ‘We’ve got rich history in the family of flitting between luxury cars. So we were in Lexus GS300 Sports and LS400s when our mates’ dads were driving Cavaliers. You might have been in a two-bed terrace with seven people in the house, but you had to have a fly car. That was the culture from early on.’
The new show comes after the curtain came down on Man Like Mobeen earlier this year after five series.
