Playing himself and his parents in Rest Easy Gerry Boy

Scottish stand-up Darren Connell has created a comedy short for Channel 4.

The comic – best known as Bobby Muir in Scot Squad –  stars in Rest Easy Gerry Boy as a character called Darren, as well as various members of his family.

In the four-and-a-half minute sketch his character accidentally invites his new girlfriend (played by fellow comic Amelia Bayler) to meet his parents for the first time – on the day of his uncle Gerry’s funeral.

Rest Easy Gerry Boy is directed by Conor Reilly, produced by Mark Bignell and released as a  Channel 4 Comedy Playground, set up as a  'stepping-stone for cutting-edge comedy talent'
