Nick Mohammed joins Slow Horses
Playing an ambitious politician
Nick Mohammed is to appear in the new series of acclaimed Apple TV+ drama Slow Horses.
The comedian and Ted Lasso star will play ambitious politician Zafar Jaffrey, a moderate Muslim and friend of the PM who is running for mayor of London.
The character appeared in the London Rules novel in Mick Herron’s Slough House series, which spawned the acclaimed series.
Mohammed’s face was plastered on the side of London buses with the slogan ‘moving London forward’ – as spotted by the Camden New Journal when filming was under way in the North London district in February.
The first two episodes in the fifth season of Slow Horses will premiere globally on Wednesday, September 24, with the remaining four being released weekly until October 22.
Former stand-up Will Smith is among the writers who adapted Herron’s novels for the screen.
The series stars Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but cantankerous leader of the spies, who end up in Slough House, the dumping ground for agents who made career-ending mistakes. Co-stars include Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden and Saskia Reeves.
Mohammed – pictured above in Ted Lasso – will soon be seen in Celebrity Traitors, while he is currently on tour with Show Pony, another equine-based title...
