Is this the end of Tenacious D?
Tour pulled and all future plans 'on hold' after Trump comments
Jack Black has pulled the plug on the current Tenacious D tour after his partner Kyle Gass joked about the assassination attempt against Donald Trump.
Black says ‘all future creative plans’ for the duo are now on hold after Gass made an ill-judged joke on stage in Sydney on Sunday.
To celebrate Gass’s 64th birthday, Black presented him with a cake to Gass and asked him to make a wish.
His co-frontman responded: ‘Don’t miss Trump next time.’
Gass later apologised for the gag - which was captured by a fan – writing on social media: ‘The line I improvised onstage Sunday night in Sydney was highly inappropriate, dangerous and a terrible mistake.
‘I don’t condone violence of any kind, in any form, against anyone. What happened was a tragedy, and I’m incredibly sorry for my severe lack of judgement. I profoundly apologise to those I’ve let down and truly regret any pain I’ve caused.’
Jack Black went on stage with his band over the weekend and his bandmate said "don't miss Trump next time" to laughs from the audience.

And Black said today: ‘I was blindsided by what was said at the show on Sunday. I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form.
‘After much reflection, I no longer feel it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour, and all future creative plans are on hold. I am grateful to the fans for their support and understanding.’
The duo had another week of sold-out arena gigs in Australia and then were due to head to New Zealand followed by a US tour in October.
Black and Gass founded the comedy rock outfit in 1994 when they were members of The Actors' Gang theatre company in Los Angele, and they went on to support massive rock acts such as Weezer, Pearl Jam and Beck. They made an HBO series and the 2006 movie Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny.
