Monday December 11

BRIGHTON:  Ed Gamble, Fern Brady, Jen Brister and Josh Pugh come bearing gifts of comedy in the latest high-profile Live At Christmas gigs touring the country. Tickets. The same line-up is at the Halls in Norwich tomorrow, with David O'Doherty replacing Gamble at Birmingham Town Hall on Wednesday

Tuesday December 12

LONDON: Rob Beckett, Marcus Brigstocke, Nick Helm Markus Birdman, Rich Wilson and Simon Brodkin assemble at the Comedy Store for a  Laugh Till It Hurts benefit in aid of homeless charity Crisis.

Wednesday December 13

LONDON: If you think John The Unicorn is a crazy name for a venue, that's got nothing on the parade of comedy oddballs taking part in the Peckham pub's  Confuse Comedy and Cabaret show tonight. Expect off-the-wall offerings from the likes of BBC New Comedy Award winner  Joe Kent-Walters, Martin Soan, Pat Cahil,  Cheekykita, Mr Twonkey, Marny Godden and more.

LONDON: The dangers of artificial intelligence have never been more relevant, and from now until December 22, LA-based physical comedian Courtney Pauroso brings her intensely bonkers take on the topic, courteset of the sex robot Vanessa 5000, to the Soho Theatre. It was one of the cult hits of this year's Edinburgh Fringe and you can read our review here

Friday December 15

ALDERLEY EDGE: Get some pre-Christmas silliness at Manford's Comedy Club in the Festival Hall, courtesy of well-deserved Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Phil Ellis. He's joined by delightful Brennan Reece and cheerfully self-deprecating, Simon Wozniak.

Saturday December 16

LONDON: You're in very safe hands at the Boat Show, the floating comedy club on the Tattershall Castle paddle steamer moored on the Thames, with acclaim magnets Emmanuel Sonubi, Jeff Innocent, Rich Wilson and Vittorio Angelone all on the bill.

BATH: More of the circuit's best at Komedia with smart-dumb Carey Marx,  surprisingly cynical Sally-Anne Hayward, and quick witted  Stephen Grant all on the bill.
