
Peter Kay records a special Radio 2 show
Talking to Steve Wright about his new book
Peter Kay will be joining Steve Wright for a one-off Radio 2 Christmas special next week.
The comic will pick his favourite songs as he reminisces and chats about his latest memoir, TV: Big Adventures On The Small Screen,
Highlights are said to include how Kay and a barking dog nearly upstaged Sir Paul McCartney; the day when three Knights – Sir Michael Parkinson, Sir Michael Caine and Sir David Attenborough - helped him do his tie up and his own rendition of the Blockbusters theme.
The special, airing from 10am next Sunday, will also feautures music from the TV shows that Kay grew up with, including Auf Wiedersehen Pet, Mork & Mindy and Minder.
Wright – who left his long-running afternoon slot last year – said: ‘I am Peter’s biggest fan and I’m also pleased to call him my friend so please tune in for this very special radio programme.’
Kay says: ‘What an early festive treat it was for me to chat to broadcasting legend Steve Wright. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I hope everybody else does too. Feliz Navidad.’
