Yes, Minister actor John Nettleton dies at 94

He also appeared in The New Statesman

 John Nettleton – who played manipulative civil servant Sir Arnold Robinson on Yes, Minister has died at the age of 94.

The character, originally the Cabinet Secretary, was mentor to Nigel Hawthorne's Sir Humphrey Appleby. 

Nettleton also played  Conservative MP Sir Stephen Baxter in The New Statesman, opposite Rik Mayall.

His other credits included Brideshead Revisited, Doctor Who and Sir Michael Palin’s East of Ipswich. His final TV credit was the 2008 comedy-drama Kingdom, opposite t Stephen Fry.

Nettleton’s agent, Scott Marshall Partners, said in a statement: ‘It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved client and much-loved stage and screen actor John Nettleton at the age of 94. He is survived by his wife Deirdre, three children and five grandchildren.’
