Cunk, Taskmaster and more up for international awards

Banff festival's Rockie Awards shortlists released

British comedies Am I Being Unreasonable? and Cunk on Earth are up for a prestigious international TV award.

Also nominated for the Rockie Awards – handed out by the Banff World Media Festival in Canada – is What We Do In The Shadows, Donald Glover's US series Atlanta and Sort Of, a Canadian TV show starring co-creator Bilal Baig as a non-binary millennial trying to balance their roles as a child of Pakistani immigrants, a bartender at an LGBTQ café, and a caregiver to the young children of a professional couple.

They are all up for the award for best scripted comedy series in the English language.

Adam Kay’s This Is Going To Hurt is up for best drama series in the English language where it is up against American show Euphoria, House of the Dragon, The White Lotus and Canadian series The Porter.

Taskmaster, Rob & Romesh Vs and The Graham Norton Show have been nominated in the separate comedy and variety category  alongside Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, Canada’s Lido TV and Portuguese show Tabu.

Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel is shortlisted in the category for competition series and game shows alongside The Traitors, The Great British Bake Off, Canadian series The Devil’s Lot: So Help Me Cod!  and Australia’s The Mole.

Dodger, the Dickensian kids’ comedy written by Rhys Thomas and Lucy Montgomery is nominated in the category for live action youth programming.

Other British shows nominated in various categories include The Repair Shop, Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof, Planet Sex with Cara Delevingne and Louis Theroux Interviews.

Earlier this month, Am I Being Unreasonable? topped the list of Royal Television Society award nominations, which also recognised  Cunk On Earth.

The full lists of the Rockies nominees are here and winners will be announced on June 12.
