Lee Mack to host

Lee Mack will host this year’s Royal Variety Performance with Al Murray, Maisie Adam, Omid Djalili and Britain's Got Talent winner Axel Blake on the bill.

Frank Skinner and David Baddiel will also be there to sing their new Christmas version of Three Lions with The Lightning Seeds to mark the Qatar World Cup.

Mack said: ‘I was actually going to buy tickets for this year's Royal Variety Performance, so not only is it a real honour to be asked to host it, it's also saved me a few quid.

‘I now just have to work out the logistics of introducing these brilliant acts and also rushing back to my seat to watch them.

The Not Going Out star previously presented the Queen's Platinum Jubilee concert in June.’

This year’s fundraising gig will be recorded at the Royal Albert Hall on  December 1 for broadcast on ITV later in the month, and tickets have already sold out.

The late Queen will be honoured in a segment organised by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Gary Barlow, Gareth Malone and the London Youth Choir.

Also on the line-up are  musicians Nile Rodgers & Chic, George Ezra, Ellie Goulding, Sam Ryder and Becky Hill while Cabaret, Newsies and Cirque Du Soleil will present extracts from their stage shows.
