Marcus Brigstocke to appear in the next Magic Mike film

...as well as the next series of The Crown

Marcus Brigstocke has landed a role in the new Magic Mike film.

The comedian was able to draw on his past as a podium dancer in clubs including The Ministry of Sound when he recorded his scenes.

He broke the news to Steph McGovern on Steph’s Packed Lunch on Channel 4,  prompting laughs from the studio audience.

Marcus said: ‘I’ve got a part in the new Magic Mike movie… I genuinely have, I’m not even kidding. I spent yesterday evening dancing next to Channing Tatum and Salma Hayek.

‘I fancy myself as a bit of a dancer sometimes, I was a podium dancer. But, to be perfectly, honest, when Channing Tatum is dancing next to you, it’s amazing how uncoordinated you become. You know those inflatable things outside garages….

‘It’s great, so exciting. I have probably already broken my NDA [non-disclosure agreement] by telling you that. I will say this, the movie is fantastic. I’ve seen some of the stuff they’re shooting with the dancers and with Channing and it is mind-blowing.’

As well as Magic Mike’s Last Dance, Brigstocke also has a role in the next series of The Crown.

Earlier this week, he told The Sun how he filmed scenes in a hospital alongside the actor playing Hasnat Khan — the heart surgeon who had a love affair with Diana, played by Elizabeth Debicki.

He said: "We’re in hospital and watching the interview that she gave to Martin Bashir.

‘I’m with the surgeon. I didn’t have lines in the scene and I was told by the director, "Could you say a bit while we’re watching it to kind of needle the guy?".

‘I’m like, "Yeah, sure, I’ll give it a go, why not?’ The scene was very serious.’

Brigstocke is also the frontman for a new anti-litter video in his old home town of Bristol urging smokers not to discard their butts int the street.

Steph’s Packed Lunch airs weekdays at 12.30pm on Channel 4 and All 4.
