Richard Ayoade to front more Question Teams

Second series ordered for the Dave channel

Richard Ayoade is to make a second series of Question Team for Dave.

Eight new hour-long episodes have been ordered by the broadcaster after series one became one of the channel's most-watched shows of 2021, attracting an average audience of 397,000 and peaking with 563,000 for episode one.

Ayoade said: I am beyond thrilled to be providing a quote pantomiming genuine excitement w/r/t [with respect to] whatever I’m meant to be promoting.’

The format involves a panel of comedians each setting their own round, with  guests in series one including James Acaster, Bob Mortimer, Nish Kumar, Kerry Godliman and Desiree Burch.

Iain Coyle, UKTV’s head of comedy entertainment, said: ‘What’s great about this show, is that you’ve literally no idea what is going to be in it, week to week, as every round is unique.  It’s quite something to pull off for the producers and Richard is an extraordinary host for an extraordinary show.’

Executive producer Jamie Ormerod added: ‘Series one featured comedians jumping out of planes, high stakes lawn bowls and identifying crisps from the sound of their crunch.  Series two promises rounds that go higher, with more jeopardy and even more crunch.’

The second series will air sometime this year, while series one has also just been acquired by SBS in Australia and TVNZ in New Zealand.

A similar format, It’s Your Round, aired on Radio 4 in 2011 and 2012, created by comedian and writer Benjamin Partridge and hosted by Angus Deayton.
