Revealed: Details of two upcoming Inside No 9 episodes

...as Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton launch series 7 in London

Details have emerged about two of the stories in the next series of Inside No. 9

Creators Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton are to give a preview of the episodes at the BFI Southbank in London tonight. And the venue has given brief synopses of what they entail. They are:

Merrily, Merrily: Laurence has arranged a reunion with his old university chums at a remote lake. A lot of water has passed under the bridge since then of course. As they strike out across the empty lake, the conversation takes them into choppier waters.

Mr. King (pictured): Alan arrives at a small village primary school in rural Wales. Passionate about teaching, he throws himself into the new job but finds himself overshadowed by his charismatic and much-loved predecessor, Mr King.

Series seven of Inside No 9 is expected on BBC Two in the coming months.

In one episode, Shearsmith and Pemberton will be reunited with their League Of Gentlemen co-star Mark Gatiss.

Other guest stars previously announced include the comedy actors Diane Morgan, Jessica Hynes and Daisy Haggard, plus Daniel Mays from Line Of Duty and Code 404; Jason Isaacs, best known as Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter films; Sophie Okonedo, who was Oscar nominated for her role in Hotel Rwanda; Annette Badland, who played Babe Smith in EastEnders; Siobhan Redmond from Unforgotten and Ron Cook, whose credits include Hot Fuzz and The Salisbury Poisonings.
