Clinton Baptiste to tour with rival Ramone Tamine

Clinton Baptiste, the clairvoyant that actor Alex Lowe first conceived for Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights, is going back on the road.

And this time he will be joined by fellow paranormalist Ramone Tamine – as played by Dead Ringers and Spitting Image impressionist Lewis Macleod.

The mystic characters are sworn rivals, with blurb for the show saying: ‘Despite the fact that each has a third eye they find it impossible to use it to see eye-to-eye.'

Baptiste is a psychic who bravely tells punters what the spirits are saying – whether the recipient is willing to hear the  truth or not – while  Ramone is a bitchy Scottish soothsayer and spirit-channeller from the Caledonian cabaret circuit.

The duo have announced 40 dates for next year, starting in  Darwen on September 22 and  finishing at Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London on December 4.

Lowe created Bapitste for Kay’s Channel 4 comedy in 2010, and  is also well known for playing octogenarian Barry From Watford on stage and on Steve Wright’s Radio 2 show. He also plays Brian in the BBC radio comedy Clare in The Community.

He reprised Baptiste for an appearance in Peter Kay's Britain's Got the Pop Factor and for Phoenix Nights Live at Manchester Arena in 2015, which raised £6 million for Comic Relief.  He has since completed two tours as the blunt-talking character.
