Reality TV stars to try stand-up

Celebs target what's left of the comedy circuit for new Channel 4 show

Five reality stars are to try their hand at stand-up for a new Channel 4 series, it has been reported.

According to The Sun, names being touted for the two-part series include  Roman Kemp, pictured, and Vicky Pattison.

Quite how they would be able to perform on a circuit that barely exists because of Covid was not mentioned. Nor was the fact that they would be taking very rare stage slots away from comedians who are already unable to earn a living because of the pandemic.

The show  is reportedly being put together by the team behind The Only Way Is Essex and will be part of the broadcaster’s Stand Up To Cancer fundraising.

According to the newspaper, each reality star would be teamed up with a mentor, with ‘some of the best names in comedy’  lined up to take part.

Filming is expected to take place later this year.
