Piff The Magic Dragon wins Tournament of Laughs

Piff The Magic Dragon has been crowned winner of the Tournament of Laughs comedy competition run by America’s TBS TV network.

The British comedy magician, real name John van der Put, with his chihuahua sidekick Mr Piffles triumphed over the likes of Jeff Ross, Margaret Cho, Gilbert Gottfried, Gina Yashere and Jim Norton for audience votes.

A total of 32 comics competed over a series of knockout rounds, each time submitting a new video

In last night’s finale, Piff undertook a ‘burned at the stake’ illusion:

Before the pandemic, Piff was performing nightly as part of a residency at the Flamingo Casino in Las Vegas as well as on tour in the US, where he got his break thanks to America's Got Talent.
