...who already appears in their BBC Two comedy The First Team

The Inbetweeners creators Iain Morris and Damon Beesley are working on a new show for Will Arnett.

The star of Arrested Development and BoJack Horseman appears in their new BBC Two comedy The First Team as Mark Crane, the chairman of a fictional Premier League football club.

But the pair say they are now developing new comedy ideas for the 50-year-old star.

Beesley told BANG Showbiz: ‘We have actually been working on a couple of ideas. We've been talking to Will Arnett about things we might do in the future ... [He] is a big star and a very talented comedy actor.’

The writing duo said they wrote the Crane role for Arnett after he contacted them to say he was a fan of The Inbetweeners.

Beesley added: ‘We ended up communicating and setting up a meeting when he was in London and we all just got on and we sort of tricked into signing on to the next thing we did together and this was it. He was brilliant.’
