Myra Dubois hits Britain's Got Talent

...and wows David Walliams

Character comedian Myra Dubois is to appear on Britain’s Got Talent tonight.

The cabaret star uses her audition to mock the judges, comparing herself to Amanda Holden, by saying: ‘It’s a before and after, but I won't say in what direction.’

And she says Simon Cowell’s gleaming teeth remind her of a newly-fitted kitchen.

David Walliams was full of praise for the ‘hilarious’ act, saying: ‘I got to see Lily Savage perform at the Vauxhall Tavern [in London] in about 1990 and it was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. Until I’ve seen you tonight.

Dubois – real name Gareth Joyner – is a familiar name at the Edinburgh Fringe and was last year shortlisted in the best character or improv category at the Chortle Awards.

She is about to appear big-screen adaptation of the West End musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie as one of the drag queens, Laika Virgin, opposite Richard E Grant,

Dubois has joked her role is ‘very important. Integral to the plot actually. Why they’ve not called it Everybody’s Talking about Myra I don’t know but anyway I’m in it.’

Fellow comedian Nabil Abdulrashid got through to the next round of Britain’s Got Talent tlast week thanks to Alesha Dixon’s golden buzzer.

Here is her performance on tonight's show:
