The Daily Mash reports record figures
Satirical website boosted by lockdown
Not everyone is suffering during the coronavirus lockdown.
Satirical website The Daily Mash has reported record traffic, declaring 1.9million visits in the first week.
Top stories include: ‘Five smug middle-class social isolation activities’ and ‘Waitrose limits food sales to people with detached houses’.
The upswing was reported as parent company Digitalbox announced its annual report, showing an operating profit of £500,000 on a £2.24million turnover.
The company, which also owns Entertainment Daily, brought Daily Mash for £1.2million last February and says the site has attracted 12 per cent more traffic since then.
Today’s news comes a day before the TV spin-off, the Mash Report, pictured, returns to BBC with host Nish Kumar and the correspondents reporting fro their homes.
