Jenny Eclair and Shappi Khorsandi to write feminist books

For a new young adults collection

Shappi Khorsandi and Jenny Eclair are to write books for a new feminist publishing collection aimed at young adults.

The Bellatrix publishing strand from Hachette Children's Group launched in July with Kit de Waal’s Becoming Dinah, a response to the classic Moby Dick which ‘tore the power away from obsessive Captain Ahab and giving it to a teenage girl’.

New books from Khorsandi,  Eclair and journalist Bryony Gordon will be added to the collection in the next two years – although further details have not been revealed.

Helen Thomas, editor at large at Hachette Children’s Group, told trade website The Bookseller: ‘We are delighted to be adding three more stellar female voices to the roster of writers contributing to this collection – especially when their ideas are so out of this world. Watch this space for title reveals.'
