Michael McIntyre to play New York's Radio City Music Hall
Michael McIntyre is to play one of the most famous venues in New York next year.
The comedian has announced that he is to perform in the historic 6,000-capacity Radio City Music Hall on February 1.
The art deco venue is part of the Rockefeller Centre on Sixth Avenue, and is
famous for the Rocketttes dancing troupe that performs in its annual Christmas shows. It has also hosted televised events including the Grammy Awards, the Tony Awards and the Daytime Emmy Awards.
McIntyre made his US debut in New York on the same date, February 1, last year. Then he sold out the 2,800-capacity Beacon Theatre in the Upper West Side as his only American date in his Big World Tour – and received two standing ovations.
According to an Evening Standard review, the comic relished the more positive attitude of US audiences, compare to British cynicism. Cheered after mentioning that he had been married for 18 years, he said: ‘That’s what I’ve been looking forward to in America. That celebratory attitude.’
Tickets for the Radio City show go on sale at 10am Eastern Time tomorrow.
