Revealed: When Netflix will drop 47 stand-up specials in one day

New Year binge ahoy!

Netflix is to dump 47 new stand-up specials on to its platform on New Year’s Day.

The streaming giant announced in the summer that all the half-hour shows from comedians around the world on a single day.

Now it has been confirmed that the show will be called Comedians Of The World and debut on  January 1.

Nish Kumar, Joel Dommett, Ellie Taylor  and London-based Canadian Mae Martin will be representing the UK.

Netflix say: ‘The groundbreaking series will feature a range of stand-up specials from comedians diverse in style, gender and ethnicity, taped in eight languages from around the world.’

Lisa Nishimura, the Netflix vice-president responsible for comedy, said: ‘Few things are better than discovering a new comedian you love. With this event, we’re creating a true comedy festival experience for our members where they can scour the globe from home to find some of the freshest voices in comedy.’

Many of the sets were recorded at Just for Laughs in Montreal thsi summer.
