A Patton emerges...

Rare UK date for Mr Oswalt

American comic Patton Oswalt has announced a rare UK date.

The stand-up will be playing the Forum in London’s Kentish Town on June 15 next year.

He has a string of TV and movie credits to his name, including Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, King Of Queens, Veep and Ratatouille, but is most acclaimed for his stand-up.

This 2016 special, Talking For Clapping, won him both an Emmy for its writing and a Grammy award for its audio release. It is out now on Netflix, as is his follow-up Annihilation, which covered the death of his wife Michelle McNamara.

He had been due to appear in both London and at the Vodafone Comedy  Carnival in Galway this time last year, but had to pull the shows citing his ‘crazy’ work schedule.

Tickets for the London show are on sale now here.

• Fellow US stand-up Bert Kreischer, a party animal said to be the inspiration fro National Lampoon’s Van Wilder film, has announced a UK and Ireland tour. He will be at the Brighton Komedia on April 23, followed by Bath Komedia, Hackney Arts Centre, Glasgow’s Oran Mor, Manchester Dancehouse on subsequent days, and Dublin’s Vicar Street on May 5 and 6.
