
James Corden to host major new talent show
The World's Best to feature global contestants
James Corden is to host a major new TV talent show in the States.
The World’s Best all also feature Drew Barrymore, RuPaul Charles and Faith Hill as judges, Hollywood website Deadline reports today
But international competitors – performing across a wide spectrum of genres – will not only have to impress the US judges, but also the ‘wall of the world,’ comprising 50 experts from around the globe.
Ten episodes will air next year on the CBS network, home of Corden’s Late Late Show. The comic will also be an executive producer while his company, Fulwell 73 Productions, is one of those behind the show.
Mark Burnett and Mike Darnell, from The Voice and American Idol are the driving forces behind the scenes, and they will be hoping to take on the success of Simon Cowell’s America’s Got Talent, while
Darnell told Deadline: ‘ We feel incredibly lucky that James Corden agreed to be part of this groundbreaking global event competition. He’s an absolute force of nature, and his versatility, passion and showmanship are unrivalled.
‘The World’s Best will now be the gold standard of competition shows.’
