Isla Fisher joins Greed

Alongside Steve Coogan and David Mitchell

Isla Fisher is to join Steve Coogan and David Mitchell in Greed, the new British comedy film about the super-rich.

The star will appear as the wife of Coogan’s character, a ruthless, self-absorbed retail billionaire said to have been inspired by former BhS tycoon Philip Green.

Interestingly, Fisher’s real-life husband Sacha Baron Cohen was originally linked to the role.

Hollywood website Deadline reports that her character is the only person who can truly understand the businessman and his complex personality.

Mitchell takes the role of a mild-mannered journalist hired by Coogan’s character to chronicle his life story.

The movie is being directed by Michael Winterbottom, who previously worked with Coogan on The Trip series, 24 Hour Party People  and A Cock And Bull Story.

Greed is a working title, and may not be the name the film – which  begins shooting later this year – will be released under.
