BBC Wales orders stand-up series

With mix of English and Welsh-speaking comedians

BBC Wales has commissioned a new TV stand-up series.

Four episodes have been ordered – three in English and one in Welsh.

Kiri Pritchard-McLean will host the English shows, although the acts taking have not yet been announced. However, Paul Forde, the commissioning executive for comedy at BBC Wales said: ‘Trust me, the line ups are superb.’

Tudur Owen will headline the Welsh episode, with Steffan Alun hosting.

Producers are Little Wander, the company run by comic Henry Widdicombe which stages the Machynlleth Comedy Festival among other events, and indie comedy filmmakers Turtle Canyon Comedy.

The shows will be filmed at BBC Llandaff on September 10 and 11 (when the Welsh show will be taped), and free tickets are available here
