Alan Carr to revive Play Your Cards Right

How will its quality compare to Brucie's version? Higher or lower

Alan Carr is to follow in Sir Bruce Forsyth’s footsteps and host a reboot of Play Your Cards Right.

The Chatty Man star – who has just been asked from a  golden handcuffs contract with Channel 4 – will host a pilot for ITV.

An unnamed TV source told The Sun: ‘Alan is a great fit and is one of the very few current stars with the personality and skills to hold a show like this.’

Based on a US format called Card Sharks, Play Your Cards Right started in 1980 and ran for 248 episodes.

A previous attempt to revive the show was hosted by Vernon Kay.

Carr previously fronted an attempt to bring back another Brucie gameshow, The Price Is Right, but that came to nothing.
